Terms of Use

Last updated: September 2026

Introduction

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Antara Events platform at antara.events, however you use it — as a ticket buyer, event organizer, venue partner, or gate staff member. By using our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

See our Privacy Policy for how we collect, use, and protect your personal data — it forms part of these Terms by reference.

What Antara Events Is

Antara Events is a General Admission (GA) ticketing platform for events in Kenya, capped at 5,000 attendees per event. We do not offer reserved seating, seat maps, or holds.

Antara Events is the sole merchant of record for every ticket sale on the platform. When you buy a ticket, your payment goes to Antara Events' own Paystack account — not directly to the event organizer. We then settle the organizer's share through our own invoicing and payout process, described below.

Buying Tickets

  • No account is required to buy a ticket. Your order and ticket are accessed through a private, unguessable link sent to your email and WhatsApp — keep that link to yourself.
  • You pay the ticket price plus the payment provider's own processing fee, shown clearly before you confirm. Antara Events never adds a hidden markup on top of the ticket price.
  • Tickets that use our anti-fraud rotating QR code refresh every 15 seconds. That live, current code — not a screenshot, printout, or forwarded copy — is your actual proof of entry. A copy taken at one moment will not scan once the code has moved on.
  • Refunds are not self-service. If you need a refund, contact support@antara.events — refunds are reviewed and processed manually, in line with the specific event's stated refund policy.
  • Antara Events is not intended for use by anyone under 18. See our Privacy Policy's Children's Privacy section for more.

Organizing Events

  • You must complete our identity verification (KYC) process before any event you create can go on sale. We review the documents you submit and may reject or request more information at our discretion.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of your event listing and for delivering the event as advertised — the date, time, venue, and any other details shown to buyers.
  • Every event is General Admission only, with a hard cap of 5,000 attendees. Capacity is enforced automatically per ticket tier.
  • Antara Events charges a commission on ticket sales. The applicable rate is shown to you in-product when you create your event and may be adjusted by us from time to time going forward.
  • Payouts are invoice-based: we invoice you for our commission through a real eTIMS invoice issued outside the app, and pay out your net balance. Once an event is complete and has an outstanding balance, you may request a payout from your dashboard — Antara Events controls the actual invoicing and payment steps.
  • You must not use the platform for illegal activity, fraud, counterfeit or scalped tickets, or deceptive event listings.

Suspension and Account Deletion

We may suspend an organizer account for KYC issues, fraud, chargebacks, or violations of these Terms. A suspended organizer cannot create or modify events until the suspension is resolved.

Organizers may request deletion of their account at any time. Financial records, audit logs, and the ledger entries tied to your account are retained afterward as required by law, even though your account itself is anonymized — see our Privacy Policy's Data Retention section for exact periods.

Prohibited Uses

Regardless of how you use Antara Events, you must not:

  • Scrape the platform or use automated tools to abuse it
  • Attempt to bypass rate limits, ticket verification, or QR code security
  • Impersonate another person, organizer, or venue
  • Interfere with the platform's normal operation or another user's use of it

Intellectual Property

Antara Events owns our own branding, software, and platform design. Event organizers retain ownership of the event content, branding, and images they upload — you grant us a license to display that content on the platform for the purpose of listing and selling tickets to your event.

Liability

Antara Events is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do our best to keep the platform reliable and accurate, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the extent permitted by law, Antara Events is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in connection with the ticket or event giving rise to that claim.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Our registered office is in Kenya, consistent with our commitment to compliance with the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019 described in our Privacy Policy.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via our website. We encourage you to review this page periodically. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when the Terms were last revised.
